The ultimate off-piste adventure. Spend 3 days in the Snowy Mountains backcountry with an expert Mountain Guide in search for the best off-piste runs in Australia. Then Summit Mt Kosciuszko, Australia’s highest mountain at 2228m, and send it all the way down for the ultimate experience.
For added comfort and convenience, this tour package includes a 2-night stay in an alpine lodge at Lake Crackenback Resort, allowing the perfect start and end to the expedition tour.
Surrounded by the spectacular Snowy Mountains, you are greeted at your alpine lodge with a grazing board and a bottle of local sparkling wine. In the afternoon, your Lead Mountain Guide will take you through an equipment and safety briefing, making sure you are feeling prepared and excited for the upcoming expedition. For dinner, tuck into delicious wood fired pizzas from the Alpine Larder Restaurant. Returning to your alpine lodge for a good night's rest before an early start in the morning.

With a 7 am wake up call and a final gear checklist, the adventure begins. Our first destination is Rams-head, Australia's 4th
highest mountain at 2190m and a great off-piste
location to warm up. Together with your
Mountain Guide, you will pick your line and send it
down for a thrilling adrenaline rush. Reaching our
basecamp in the early afternoon, we will set up our
tents, watch the sun set and cook a hearty dinner.

Today is all about Mount Kosciuszko, at 2228 metres
high it is Australia's highest mountain. Our challenge
will be to summit to the top and send it down for the
ultimate off-piste experience. In the afternoon, we will return back to our basecamp and cook up a feast for our final snow camp dinner.

Our final morning on the mountain range, we say
goodbye to our base camp and head back to Lake
Crackenback Resort for a well deserved rest, tonight we
celebrate at the Cuisine Restaurant with a glass of wine by the roaring fire.

After a long weekend of exploring Australia’s alpine region and Snowy Mountains, we reach our final morning together and the tour officially concludes allowing guests to follow their own schedule. We do recommend taking a few extra days out to further explore this stunning region.

We’re very proud of the all-inclusive nature of our tours. All you really need are some warm clothing and we will provide the rest. It's that easy.
To fuel our expedition we'll cook up a storm right on the trail using fresh and local ingredients.

Your safety is our first priority while out on an expedition adventure. We use a 3-point safety framework to ensure all measures are taken to maximise your safety.
1. Tour planning and preparation
- To ensure your safety this tour is conditions dependant and will not proceed if a severe weather warning has been issued.
- Furthermore in the case of unforeseen conditions, tour sites have been strategically planned to be within reach of emergency shelter sites.
2. Highly experienced and qualified Mountain Guides
- All Mountain Guides are trained in First Aid, Avalanche Skills Training and have a minimum requirement of 1000 hours of alpine experience.
3. Personal safety
- All participants will be issued with a probe, shovel, ice axe and beacon
Intermediate alpine skiing experience and reasonable level of fitness is required. During a normal day you will be expected to cover between 5-10km of snow touring while carrying your expedition pack (9kg). Most active people will find this quite manageable.
A great question! The short answer is yes, but we have to build it.
A crucial part of building our snow camp includes building a private toilet shelter. Think a small igloo with the best seat in the house.
